7.9.2025 Full Moon Concert, Jämsä Church
On Sunday, September 7, the Full Moon Concert was held at Jämsä Church, featuring guitarists Kai Nieminen and Marko Rutanen and organist Marko Kupari.
The concert featured composers including James Dillon, Maurice Ohana, Kai Nieminen, Väinö Raitio and Manuel M. Ponce. The concert premiered Nieminen’s organ work Time…Around… Moonlight.. for Organ (2025), which was composed in memory of Väinö Raitio. This year marks the 80th anniversary of Raitio’s death. The work is dedicated to Marko Kupari as a 50th birthday present. The organ in Jämsä Church has been a source of inspiration for the composer when composing the work.
